[Similarly flat,] Overwhelmed and overconfident.

[Nice to feel she has nothing to prove, and nothing needs to be proven to her. She wonders when that will change; it always does.]

'Here' being your bunker? It's a good start. Two bunkers, a crashed plane, and the airfield. If we can figure out where they are in relation to each other, it's a good step forward.

Retrospective is better than none at all. There's no perfect solution.

By the southwestern shore. A little ways north is a river with a fishing weir-- our people made it-- and SOS drawn into the sand. I haven't found who made that yet. Then, another river, and no ford. I'm travelling upstream to see if I can find its source, or a place to cross.

I could do more elsewhere. They have a scientist at the airfield-- they have things handled. It would be a good base, especially to send anyone injured, but we have to establish paths to it, which requires a map.

Maybe too simple.

[But sure, fine.]

What did you do before this?

NCIS. West Virginia and DC, mostly, but I went where I was needed.

Were you on a case, before you woke up here?

I was.

There's no reason having a busy professional life would land us here. But I wonder if the people here have some other commonality beyond bad luck.

Did you know déjà vu is caused by the brain forming memories incorrectly? What can seem like a meaningful connection, some kind of echo, is really just a malfunctioning synapse.

I have theories, but they only apply to me. I guess I need more data.
